In 2015, the Ohio State Legislation approved an innovative new pathway for adults to earn an in-demand industry credential and a high school diploma. Through stackable credentials, students are gaining the skills and knowledge needed to be marketable, high-performing, confident participants in the 21st century workforce. For over 70 years the only alternative to a high school diploma in Ohio was a GED. This program has transformed the lives of our students. Improving the quality of life for themselves, their families and the communities in which they live and work. During this presentation we will share our successes, challenges, and best practices in hopes to support other institutions who are navigating the changing landscape of adult education.
